Step into the mysterious world of New York detectives Madison Cavendish and Sue SunMountain in James Goodridge’s
Terror by Night: The Supernatural Affairs of Madison Cavendish and Sue SunMountain
Pulling from diverse influences ranging from Poe’s Gothic horror to Hammett’s “The Thin Man” series, Goodridge offers seventeen tales spanning six decades of adventures starring a vampire detective and his Lycan assistant (and romantic interest).
It’s “Nick and Nora” versus supernatural happenings in these strange mysteries that could only be solved by sleuths from another realm. Goodridge also pulls from an extensive knowledge of Black history to seamlessly interweave lesser-known Black figures into the story landscapes, adding further depth to each spine-tingling tale. Experience unsettling horror and real fear as Goodridge pulls us into the world of Madison and Sue, a world on the other side of night.
